Our annual trustees visit to Uganda in June was cause for celebration - not just because our projects in Uganda are continuing to grow and deliver amazing outcomes - but because we laid the groundwork for working in bigger partnerships.
During our visit to the Kyaninga Child Development Centre (KCDC), Co-Founder Steve told us about the Africa Disability Collaboration. Established in March 2023, this initiative aims to join up the organisations working with disabled children right across Africa. Steve has been nominated Chairman and has extended an invite to Accomplish Children’s Trust to join. The collaboration has shared values with Accomplish and presents a fantastic opportunity to utilise our efforts in partnership to deliver even bigger and better outcomes for the children with whom we work. More to hear on this going forwards!
Our trustee team attended one of KCDC’s new multi-disciplinary clinics. This involved an epilepsy clinic combined with therapy sessions at the same location. It was great to see KCDC’s combined model working so well, allowing families to make a single trip for multiple health interventions. KCDC is planning to expand these clinics to new areas, linking in academic research, and cementing the multi-disciplinary model as a way forwards. Some exciting growth planned!
