Chris took a moment between training rides to reflect on what cycling means to him and why he is raising sponsorship for Accomplish Children’s Trust (ACT):

“My dad taught me to ride and repair bikes some 60 years ago and it still brings back happy memories when I ride today. It’s also brought me into contact with some lovely people and helps to keep me fit and healthy into my retirement years. Most importantly though, it’s a chance to visit new cafés!

“ACT is important because it brings remarkable relief and education to literally thousands of disabled children in Africa. A very little money goes a very long way. The money goes towards numerous successful projects including running epilepsy outreach clinics, three schools for disabled children, and funding for disabled students to start up their own businesses upon graduation.

“With so much hardship in the world, it’s great to be able to help make things better for some of the most disadvantaged individuals with whom we share this planet.”
